According to the Bureau of Indian Standards (IS 10500:2012), the acceptable ideal TDS level for drinking water is up to 500 mg/L. The National Library of Medicine also points to a comfortable everyday range of roughly 150–300 mg/L, which tends to balance taste with mineral content.
