Product & Selling GuideWhat we sell, why it is better, and how to sell itVERSION 1.0 · 7 AUGUST 2026

Read Offerings and Terminology first. Then study one product at a time. Every product page follows the same order: the models, the features, and why we are better than other brands.

Product line 1

Inverters

We sell five inverter lines. The smallest is 1100 VA for home backup. The largest is 15 KW for a three-phase solar system. AIO and H1 give backup only. S1, M1 and G3 also work with solar panels. All models are single phase. Only G3 is three phase.

Product line 2

Batteries

We sell three battery lines. All of them are LFP lithium. A6 is 12.8V and 25.6V. It replaces a tubular battery and works with H1 and S1. W1 is 48V and F1 is 51.2V. Both are used with M1 and G3. Every battery is sealed, needs no water, and has its own MCB.

How to read a Kent model name

Inverters — the number is the rating

AIO 1100 → 1100 VA all-in-one
H1 2400 → 2400 VA backup
S1 3600 → 3600 VA solar MPPT
M1 5KW → 5 kW single-phase hybrid
G3 12KW → 12 kW three-phase hybrid

The letters are the product family. The number is the rating. Backup inverters are rated in VA. Solar hybrid inverters are rated in kW. These are two different units. Read the Watt and VA terms in Terminology before you compare our rating with another brand.

Batteries — the number is watt-hours

A6-1280 → 1,280 Wh = 1.28 kWh (12.8V | 100Ah)
A6-3840 → 3,840 Wh = 3.84 kWh (25.6V | 150Ah)
W1-4800 → 4,800 Wh = 4.8 kWh (48V | 100Ah)
F1-5120 → 5,120 Wh = 5.12 kWh (51.2V | 100Ah)
F1-14340 → 14,340 Wh = 14.34 kWh (51.2V | 280Ah)

The number after the dash is the energy in watt-hours. It is not the Ah. It is not the year. Once you know how many watt-hours the customer needs, you can pick the battery directly from its name.

General terminology

The words you must know

These are the words used across every product. Learn this section first. Words used for only one product are explained inside that product page.

1

Energy and capacity

Watt in a DC circuit — W = V × A
बैटरी की तरफ का हिसाब

In a DC circuit, watts are simply voltage multiplied by current. A 12V battery giving 50 A is giving 12 × 50 = 600 watts. There is nothing else in the calculation. This is the battery side of the system, so this is the formula you use when you check whether a battery can carry a load.

Say: "Battery ki taraf seedha hisaab hai — volt guna ampere."
Watt in an AC circuit — W = V × A × PF
इनवर्टर की तरफ का हिसाब

In an AC circuit there is one more number, called power factor, written as PF. Watts = voltage × current × power factor. Voltage × current on its own is called VA. So watt = VA × PF. For our calculations we take PF as 0.8. This is why a 1100 VA inverter cannot carry 1100 watts of load.

Say: "VA aur watt ek nahi hain. Beech mein power factor hota hai."
Bulb load
इनवर्टर की रेटिंग किस पर बनती है

Bulb load is the watts a home UPS inverter can actually deliver. It is not the VA number on the box. Two things reduce it. First the power factor, taken as 0.8. Second the inverter efficiency, also taken as 0.8, because the inverter is converting DC from the battery into AC and some power is lost in that conversion. A transformer based inverter used in homes is about 80 percent efficient.

Bulb load = V × A × PF × efficiency
For a 1100 VA inverter: 1100 × 0.8 × 0.8 = about 700 watts.
For a 2400 VA inverter: 2400 × 0.8 × 0.8 = about 1,540 watts.

Say: "1100 VA ka matlab 1100 watt nahi hota. Power factor aur inverter ki efficiency ke baad karib 700 watt milta hai."
kW and kWh
पावर और एनर्जी

kW is how much load you can run at one time. The inverter decides this. kWh is how long you can run it. The battery decides this. A 5 kW inverter with a 5 kWh battery runs a 5 kW load for about one hour.

Say: "Inverter batata hai kya chalega. Battery batati hai kitni der chalega."
Usable energy and DoD
असल में कितनी बैटरी काम आती है

DoD means depth of discharge. It is how much of the battery you can safely use. Lead-acid gives about 50 percent. LFP lithium gives about 90 percent. So two batteries with the same kWh do not give the same backup.

Say: "Lead-acid battery ka aadha hissa hi kaam aata hai."
kWp and sun-hours
सोलर सिस्टम की साइज़िंग

kWp is the size of the solar panel array at test conditions. It is not the output. In north India we get about 4 useful sun-hours per day on average. So 1 kWp gives about 4 units per day. One kWp needs about 100 square feet of shadow-free roof.

Say: "1 kW panel se saal bhar average 4 unit per day milta hai."
2

Battery

C-rate
बैटरी कितनी तेज़ी से करंट दे सकती है

C-rate tells how fast a battery can give current. 1C means a 100Ah battery can give 100A continuously. 0.65C means it can give only 65A. Our W1 and F1 batteries are 1C.

Say: "Ah mat pucho. Continuous discharge current pucho."
Cell cycles
एक साइकिल क्या होती है

One cycle is one full charge and one full discharge. The cycle number tells how many times the battery can do this before its capacity falls to about 80 percent. A tubular battery gives about 1,000 cycles. A6 gives 3500 or more, W1 gives 4000 or more, F1 gives 6000 or more. At one cycle per day, 6000 cycles is more than 16 years.

Say: "Ek cycle matlab ek baar full charge aur ek baar full discharge."
Cell tier — A+, A and B
सेल का ग्रेड

Cells are graded after they are made. Tier A+ and Tier A cells are tested and matched. They hold their capacity, and there is very little difference between one cell and another. Tier B cells are the ones that did not pass this test. They are cheaper, they lose capacity earlier, and the cells do not stay equal. F1 uses Tier A+ cells from EVE. W1 uses Tier A cells from REPT.

Say: "Cell ka grade poochiye. Tier B sasta hai, par jaldi kam ho jaata hai."
SOC — State of Charge
अभी कितना चार्ज बचा है

SOC means how much charge is in the battery right now, shown as a percentage. 100 percent is full and 0 percent is empty. It works like the fuel gauge in a car. The smart load setting and the charging current limit both work on SOC.

Say: "SOC matlab battery mein abhi kitna charge hai."
SOH — State of Health
बैटरी की उम्र कितनी बची है

SOH means how much capacity the battery still has compared to when it was new, shown as a percentage. A new battery is 100 percent. After some years it may be 85 percent, which means it now stores 85 percent of the energy it stored when new. SOC changes every day. SOH falls slowly over years.

Say: "SOC roz badalta hai. SOH saalon mein dheere dheere girta hai."
BMS
बैटरी का दिमाग

BMS means Battery Management System. It is an electronic circuit inside every lithium battery. It checks the voltage and temperature of each cell. It cuts the battery off if there is over-charge, over-discharge, high current or short circuit. Lead-acid batteries do not have this.

Say: "Cell to sabko same milte hain. Farq BMS aur pack banane ka hai."
Active and passive balancing
सेल बराबर कैसे रहते हैं

Cells in a battery do not stay equal by themselves. Balancing keeps them equal. Passive balancing burns the extra energy of the strongest cell as heat. It is slow and the energy is wasted. Active balancing moves the charge from the strong cell into the weak cell. It is faster and nothing is wasted. The weakest cell decides the capacity of the whole battery, so balancing decides the life.

Say: "Sabse kamzor cell poori battery ki capacity tay karta hai."
Charging current limiting
पैरेलल बैटरी की सुरक्षा

This works when batteries are connected in parallel. If one battery has much less charge than the others, a very high current can suddenly flow into it. The BMS sees this and reduces the charging current to a safe level until the batteries become equal. W1 limits it to 10 A and F1 limits it to 20 A. A higher limit means the batteries become equal faster.

Say: "Parallel batteries safe tarike se barabar ho jaati hain."
LFP and NMC
दोनों लिथियम एक जैसे नहीं हैं

There are two common lithium types. We use LFP. E-scooters and mobile phones mostly use NMC. The fire videos on the internet are of NMC batteries. LFP has no cobalt. LFP starts overheating only at a much higher temperature, and it does not keep burning like NMC.

Say: "Ye wahi battery nahi hai jismein scooter mein aag lagti hai. Ye LFP hai."
3

Inverter and solar

MPPT and PWM
सोलर चार्ज कंट्रोलर

Both are solar charge controllers. PWM is cheaper and wastes part of the panel output. MPPT keeps finding the best working point of the panel. MPPT gives about 20 to 30 percent more energy from the same panels. All our solar models use MPPT.

Say: "PWM aapke naye panel ka output waste karta hai."
Switch-over time
लाइट जाने पर कितनी देर लगती है

When the grid fails, the inverter takes over the load. Switch-over time is how long that takes. It is measured in milliseconds, and one millisecond is one thousandth of a second. Below about 5 ms the AC compressor does not stop, the lights do not blink and computers do not restart. At 10 to 20 ms the customer feels every power cut. M1 and G3 are under 5 ms.

Say: "Kam switch-over ka matlab hai AC band hoke dobara start nahi hoga."
IP rating
बाहर लगाने के लिए कितना सील है

IP means Ingress Protection. It tells how well a product is sealed. There are two digits. The first digit is protection from dust, from 0 to 6. The second digit is protection from water, from 0 to 8. IP66 means completely dust tight and protected from strong water jets. This is why the M1 and G3 can be fixed outside on a wall.

Say: "IP66 matlab dhool bilkul andar nahi jaayegi, aur paani ki tez dhaar se bhi bachav hai."
Parallel operation
बाद में और जोड़ा जा सकता है

Two or more units of the same product joined together to work as one bigger system. Inverters in parallel give more load capacity. Batteries in parallel give more backup. The units must talk to each other, so communication is needed. M1 takes up to 3 units, G3 takes up to 6, W1 takes up to 8 batteries and F1 takes up to 16.

Say: "Aaj chhota lijiye. Aage zaroorat badhe to ek aur jod dijiye."
On-grid inverter
बैटरी नहीं होती

An on-grid inverter has solar and grid, but no battery. It runs the house and sends extra power to the grid. When the grid fails, the rules say it must switch off. So it gives no backup. We do not sell this type.

Say: "Light gayi to solar bhi band ho jaata hai. Chhat pe dhoop hai aur ghar mein andhera."
Off-grid inverter
ग्रिड को कुछ नहीं भेजता

An off-grid inverter has solar and battery. It never sends power to the grid. Because nothing goes to the grid, no permission is needed from the electricity board. Our model is S1 3600.

Say: "Bijli board se koi approval nahi chahiye."
Hybrid inverter
सोलर, ग्रिड और बैटरी — तीनों

A hybrid inverter uses solar, grid and battery together. It reduces the bill like an on-grid inverter. It also runs the house in a power cut like a normal inverter. Where the board allows it, extra power can be sent to the grid. Our models are M1 and G3.

Say: "Hybrid dono kaam karta hai. Bill bhi kam, aur cut mein ghar bhi chalta hai."
4

Connection and safety

MCB — and why a DC MCB is different
बैटरी पर AC का MCB कभी नहीं

MCB means Miniature Circuit Breaker. It cuts the supply if the current becomes too high or if there is a short circuit. It can be switched on again, unlike a fuse which has to be replaced.

An AC MCB must never be used on a DC circuit. In AC the current becomes zero 100 times every second, so the spark breaks by itself. In DC the current never becomes zero, so the spark keeps burning inside the switch. It can melt the MCB and start a fire. Battery circuits are DC, so they need a DC rated MCB. The A6, W1 and F1 have one fitted inside.

Say: "Battery pe AC ka MCB kabhi mat lagwaiye. DC rated hona zaroori hai."
RS485 and CAN
बैटरी और इनवर्टर की आपसी बात

These are two ways in which the battery and the inverter talk to each other. The battery sends its voltage, current, temperature, SOC and any fault. The inverter then charges according to what the battery reports, instead of using a fixed setting. Without this connection the inverter is charging blindly. Batteries also use it to talk to each other when they are connected in parallel.

Say: "Battery aur inverter aapas mein baat karte hain, isliye charging sahi hoti hai."
Data logger and M2M SIM
सिस्टम सर्वर से कैसे जुड़ता है

A data logger is a small device that collects the readings from the inverter and sends them to a server. It can connect by WiFi or by a SIM. An M2M SIM is a special SIM made for machines, not for phones. It stays connected on its own and does not need the customer's WiFi. The M1 and G3 have a 4G data logger with an M2M SIM built in, with 5 years of data included.

Say: "Ye WiFi pe nahi chalta. Iske andar apna SIM lagaa hua hai."
5

Grid and metering

Net metering
यूनिट के बदले यूनिट

The electricity board counts the units you send to the grid and the units you take from the grid. Your bill is made on the difference. One unit sent is equal to one unit taken. This is the best arrangement for the customer.

Say: First check that net metering is being given in that area, and how long approval takes.
Net billing
भेजने का रेट अलग, लेने का अलग

The board buys your exported units at a fixed low rate. But you buy units from the board at the normal higher rate. So one unit that the customer uses himself saves more money than one unit he exports.

Say: "Net billing mein battery zyada faayda deti hai."
Zero export
ग्रिड को कुछ नहीं भेजना

The system is set so that no power goes to the grid at all. This is used where the board does not allow export. Without a battery, the extra solar power is wasted.

Say: "Export band hai to extra solar waste jaayega. Isliye battery zaroori hai."

Which lithium battery replaces which lead-acid battery

A lead-acid battery is always bought oversized, because only half of it can be used. Lithium gives 90 percent. So the Ah number becomes smaller, but the backup the customer gets becomes larger. Use this table when a customer says "mere paas 150 Ah lagi hai".

SystemWhat he has todayUsable at 50%Kent batteryUsable at 90%Difference
12V1 × 150Ah tubular · 1.80 kWh0.90 kWhA6-12801.15 kWh28% more backup

48V4 × 200Ah tubular · 9.60 kWh4.80 kWhF1-51204.61 kWhAlmost the same, in one single unit
What to say "Aapko 150 Ah nahi chahiye. 100 Ah lithium usse zyada backup degi." The Ah number becomes smaller, but the usable energy becomes larger, because half of the tubular battery was never available to him.

It is also one third of the weight

A 150Ah tubular battery weighs 55 to 60 kg. It needs a trolley, floor space and an open area. The A6-1280 that replaces it is about one third of that weight and can be fixed on a wall. In a flat, this point alone often closes the sale.

Do not quote Ah for Ah

If a customer asks for "150 Ah lithium" because that is what he has today, he is asking for much more than he needs. The quotation will then look costly for no reason. Convert to kWh, apply the usable part, and then choose the battery. Quoting Ah for Ah is the most common way this sale is lost.

2

Cost over 10 years

On the first day lithium is costlier. Over 10 years it is much cheaper. The example below is a 12V home using a 150Ah tubular battery. This is the most common replacement case the team will get.

Over 10 yearsTubular lead-acid 150AhKent A6-1280

Units given in 10 years3,285 units4,205 units
Cost of one unit of backup₹13.33₹5.23

Total saving

₹21,800

Even after giving credit for the scrap value of the lead-acid batteries, the customer spends ₹43,800 on lead-acid and ₹22,000 on the A6-1280. That is about half. He also gets 920 more units of backup, because 90 percent of the lithium battery is usable against 50 percent of the tubular battery.

Cost per unit of backup

₹5.23 against ₹13.33

Lead-acid costs 2.5 times more for every unit of backup it gives. Show this number to a customer who is comparing only the price of the battery. It is the same kind of calculation he already does on his electricity bill.

3

When the extra money comes back

On the first day the customer pays ₹8,000 more. That amount comes back the first time he would have had to buy a new tubular battery. After that, everything is saving.

What to say "Aaj aath hazaar zyada lag raha hai. Teen saal baad jab aapko dobara battery leni padti, tab hi wo paisa wapas ho jaata hai. Uske baad das saal tak bachat hi bachat."

These numbers are on the safe side

The ₹21,800 already gives lead-acid the credit for its scrap value. Three more costs are not counted, and each of them makes our case stronger:

Service visits. Battery complaints and the electrician's charges, which increase as each battery gets old.

The last year of each battery. A tubular battery works worst in its final year. So about one third of the 10 years is spent on a battery that is already weak.

Charging time. Lithium charges in 1 to 2 hours against 8 to 10 hours. It gets ready between two power cuts on the same day. Lead-acid often does not.

With F1 the case is even stronger

F1 has a 10 year warranty and 6000 or more cycles. So the full 10 years is covered by one battery with warranty, while the customer would have bought his third tubular battery and filled water about forty times.

When the customer is buying an M1 or G3, write the warranty period and the number of replacements on the same page as the price. Then say: "Ye ek hi baar lagegi. Warranty bhi das saal ki hai."

Before you use these numbers The ₹14,000 and ₹22,000, the ₹300 per water filling and the 15 percent scrap value are example figures for training. Check both prices against today's price list before you show them to a customer, and do the totals again if any price has changed. The method stays the same: total spent in 10 years, divided by units of backup given.

The four types of inverter

There are four kinds of inverter in the market. If you offer the wrong type, nothing else you say will help. Learn this before you name any model.

TypeSolarBatteryWorks in a power cut?Sends power to grid?Kent model
Home backupNoYesYesNoH1, AIO
Off-grid solarYesYesYesNoS1 3600
On-grid solarYesNoNo — it switches offYesWe do not sell this
Hybrid solarYesYesYesYesM1, G3

Why an on-grid system is wrong for most Indian homes

An on-grid inverter has no battery. It takes power from the solar panels and gives it to the house and to the grid. When the grid fails, the rules say the inverter must switch off. This rule exists for safety, so that a lineman repairing the line is not given a shock by power coming from a rooftop.

So the customer who bought solar to reduce his bill sits in the dark during a power cut, even when there is full sunlight on his roof. This is the most common complaint in Indian rooftop solar.

A hybrid inverter solves both problems. It reduces the bill like an on-grid inverter. It also runs the house during a power cut like a normal inverter. And it charges the battery from the sun instead of the grid.

Ask this question first Before you name any model, ask: "Aapki sabse badi problem bill hai ya light jaana hai?" Only bill, and the grid is stable → hybrid. Only power cuts, and no interest in solar → H1 or AIO. Both problems, and net metering is available → hybrid with battery. Both problems, but weak grid or no net metering → S1.

Phase 2 — "PM Surya Ghar 2.0"

StatusThis is only a proposal. MNRE held a meeting on it in July 2026. There is no official order, no guidelines and no start date.
Expected changeIn short
Generation-linked supportPayment based on units generated, not on system size
Battery incentiveBattery may also get a subsidy
Wider accessShared rooftops, group net metering, and small systems for flats
Performance checksGeneration guarantee, quality checks, and a digital record for each system
Differentiated helpDifferent help based on income, location and type of customer
Metering re-valuedUnits used at home may be valued differently from units exported
"Main 2.0 ka wait kar leta hoon"Nothing is official yet and there is no date. The present scheme is running today. Every month he waits, he pays a full electricity bill. Never promise what a future scheme will or will not include.
Why it suits usBattery subsidy, payment based on generation, and remote monitoring all describe an M1 or G3 with a battery and a data logger. We already sell this system today.

Data logger regulations

MNRE is moving the industry away from WiFi dongles and foreign servers. The new rules ask for SIM-based data loggers that send data to a central government platform kept on Indian servers.

WhenWhat changed
Jul 2025First rules issued for inverters and communication devices
Dec 2025States asked to use M2M SIM based monitoring. A separate generation meter may not be needed
Jan 2026Final guidelines issued for all brands: encryption, certificates, central platform
Mar 2026Testing rules issued for inverter monitoring systems and data loggers
Apr 2026Draft software rules. 23 readings must be sent for single phase, 43 for three phase
Kent M1 / G3
  • 4G logger with M2M SIM already inside the unit. This is what the new rules ask for
  • 5 years of data included, so it is never left out to save cost
  • CentCom™ data held on Indian servers
  • Does not depend on the customer's WiFi
Wi-Fi dongle products
  • Sold separately, and often never fitted
  • Need WiFi, which usually does not reach the inverter
  • Some send the data to servers outside India
  • Will have to change their design as the rules become stricter

Features

IP66 protectionIP66 means the inverter is fully sealed. Dust and water cannot go inside. In India most outdoor inverters fail because dust and moisture enter the unit. The M1 does not have this problem, so its failure rate is very low. It can be fixed on an outside wall. No room or cabinet is needed.
Switch-over under 5 msWhen the grid fails, the M1 changes over in less than 5 milliseconds. This is real time, like an online UPS. The AC compressor does not stop and start again. The lights do not blink. Computers, routers and CCTV do not restart. The family does not feel that the power has gone.
200% solar oversizingSolar panels almost never give their full rated output. Haze, heat, dust, winter light and early morning sun all reduce it. So we allow twice the inverter rating in panels. Then the inverter can still give its full output from solar. M1 3KW takes 6 KW of panels. M1 6KW takes 12 KW.
Dual MPPTThere are two separate solar inputs. So two different panel arrays can be connected to one inverter, for example one on the main roof and one on a shed. Each array works on its own. Dual MPPT also makes the oversized array easy to connect, because the panels can be split into two groups.
200% overload for 10 secondsThe M1 can carry twice its rating for 10 seconds. An AC compressor or a submersible pump needs a very high current for a moment when it starts. A 5 KW unit will hold 10 KW during that moment. So the inverter does not trip and the house does not go dark.
Smart load outputThis is a separate output for loads that are not essential, such as a geyser, a second AC or a pump. It switches on only when there is extra solar power, or when the battery is above a set percentage. It switches off below that level. So the heavy load runs on solar, and the battery is saved for the family's real needs.
Always-on 4G data loggerA 4G data logger is built into every unit. An M2M SIM and a 5 year data pack are included. The inverter stays connected to Kent CentCom all the time. The system can be checked, settings can be changed and alarms can be cleared from a phone. It does not need the customer's WiFi.
Kent CentCom™CentCom is the app and the server that the data logger connects to. On a phone you can see solar, grid, load and battery live, check generation day wise and month wise, see alarms and past faults, change any inverter setting from a distance and clear a stuck alarm. It also has Kent AI-Settings, where the engineer can speak or type the change in his own language instead of finding a parameter code. Every change is recorded against the person who made it. It comes free with the inverter and is never quoted separately.
Works on-grid or off-gridOne unit covers both needs. If the customer does not want to buy a battery now, it works as an on-grid inverter and runs the house from solar. If the customer does not want solar now, it works with only a battery and gives backup during a power cut. He can add the missing part later without changing the inverter.
Up to 3 units in parallelThree M1 units can be connected together and work as one bigger system. If the customer's load increases later, he can add a second unit instead of replacing the first one. His first purchase is not wasted.
3

Competitive advantages — why we cost more

M1 is one of the costliest models in the market. Do not say sorry for the price and do not offer a discount first. The extra price is because of the six points below. Explain them one by one, and let the customer decide.

SpecificationKent M1Other brands
Switch-over timeLess than 5 msLess than 10 ms or 20 ms

1

Switch-over in less than 5 ms

Kent M1The changeover takes less than 5 milliseconds. This is real time, like an online UPS. The AC compressor keeps running. Nothing blinks and nothing restarts. The customer does not come to know that the grid has failed.
Other brandsThey give 10 ms or 20 ms. In that time the AC compressor stops and starts again. The lights blink. Computers and CCTV can restart. The customer feels every power cut, and the compressor takes one extra start every time.
2

Kent CentCom, and ₹10,000 of it is free

Kent M1A 4G data logger with an M2M SIM is built in and stays connected to Kent CentCom by itself. On CentCom the whole system is visible live, any setting can be changed from a distance and a stuck alarm can be cleared without anyone travelling. Kent AI-Settings lets the engineer make the change by speaking in his own language. Data is kept on Indian servers. The logger, the SIM and the 5 year data pack are worth about ₹10,000, and the customer pays nothing for them.
Other brandsThey give a WiFi dongle, and it is sold separately. There is usually no WiFi where the inverter is fixed. It also stops working when the customer changes his router or password. So it stays offline, and a technician has to visit for every fault, even for a wrong setting. Nothing can be changed or cleared from a distance.
3

200% overload against 150%

Kent M1Twice the rating for 10 seconds. The AC or the pump starts and the inverter keeps working. So the inverter runs the loads the customer actually has, not only the loads written in the specification.
Other brands150% is not enough for the current an AC compressor or a submersible pump takes at starting. The inverter trips, the house goes dark, and the customer reports it as a product failure.
4

200% solar oversizing against 150%

Kent M1With 200% of panels, even on a cloudy day when panels give only half output, the panels still give the full inverter rating. So the complete load runs on solar and nothing is taken from the grid. Over a year this saves a large number of units. This is where the extra price comes back.
Other brandsWith only 150% of panels, the same half output day gives only 75% of the inverter rating. The remaining 25% is taken from the grid, and the customer pays for it on many days of the year.
5

He can buy it in two parts

Kent M1It works as a simple on-grid inverter with solar and no battery. It also works as a simple backup inverter with a battery and no solar. The customer buys the part he needs today and adds the other part later. Nothing is wasted.
Other brandsThe hybrid has to be bought complete — inverter, battery and solar together. A customer who cannot spend the full amount today either goes away, or buys a cheaper product that he will have to replace later.
6

Do not compare it with a cheap IP66 model

Kent M1The IP rating is only one line of the specification. It is not the full specification. Put dual MPPT, smart load and parallel operation next to the cheaper model, and the price difference becomes clear. But you have to show this, because the customer will not check it himself.
Other brandsCheap models show the same IP65 or IP66 rating, so on a price list they look similar. Most of them have no dual MPPT, no smart load and no parallel operation.
If he still wants the cheaper model, ask him three questions "Uska switch-over kitna hai?" · "Data logger 4G hai ya WiFi, aur uska paisa alag lagega?" · "Overload kitna hai, AC start hone pe trip to nahi karega?" Let the customer get these answers himself. This works better than any argument.
Watch outNever promise a subsidy amount or net metering approval on your own. Scheme rules and approved lists change. Confirm with the office and give the answer to the customer in writing.

Features

True three phase outputLights, pumps, lifts and three phase motors all work correctly. Some sellers use a single phase inverter and back up only one phase. In that case half the building stays dark during a power cut, and the customer finds this out only after installation.
Unbalanced phase supportIn a three phase house or shop, the load is never equal on all three phases. One phase always has more load than the others. The G3 allows this. One phase can take up to 50 percent of the rated power, and the remaining load is shared by the other two phases. So the inverter does not trip without reason. It suits normal buildings, where the load is always uneven.
IP66 protectionIP66 means the inverter is fully sealed. Dust and water cannot go inside. At 10 to 15 KW, an indoor model needs a separate ventilated room, which costs money and delays the project. The G3 can be fixed outside near the panels.
Switch-over under 5 msThe changeover takes less than 5 milliseconds, like an online UPS. AC compressors do not restart. Lights do not blink. Computers, billing machines and CCTV do not restart. So in a shop or a clinic, the work does not stop.
200% solar oversizingSolar panels almost never give their full rated output. So we allow twice the inverter rating in panels. Then the inverter can still give its full output from solar. The G3 15KW takes 30 KW of panels.
Dual MPPTThere are two separate solar inputs, so two different panel arrays can be connected. These buildings usually have roofs facing different directions, so this is useful. It also makes the oversized array easy to connect.
200% overload for 10 secondsThe G3 can carry twice its rating for 10 seconds. A compressor, a lift motor or a submersible pump needs a very high current for a moment when it starts. The inverter takes that load instead of tripping, so the site keeps running.
Smart load outputA separate output for loads that are not essential. It switches on only when there is extra solar power, or when the battery is above a set percentage. So the extra load runs on solar and the battery is saved for the main need.
Always-on 4G data loggerA 4G data logger with an M2M SIM and a 5 year data pack is built in. The inverter stays connected to Kent CentCom, so generation, consumption and faults can be seen from anywhere. Every setting change is recorded with the name of the person who made it.
Works on-grid or off-gridIf the site does not want to buy a battery now, it works as an on-grid inverter and runs on solar. If the site wants only backup, it works with a battery and no solar. The other part can be added later without changing the inverter.
Generator portA separate input for a diesel generator. When solar and battery are not enough, the inverter uses the generator to run the load and to charge the battery. You can set a limit on how much power it takes from the generator, so a smaller generator can be used and it runs efficiently. If the load suddenly increases, solar and battery support the generator instead of overloading it. When the battery is charged enough, the inverter can stop the generator on its own.
Up to 6 units in parallelSix G3 units can work together as one system, up to 90 KW with the 15 KW model. In CentCom they show as one site, not six separate screens. If the business grows, one more unit is added instead of changing the whole plant.

Competitive advantages — why we cost more

G3 is one of the costliest models in the market. Do not say sorry for the price and do not offer a discount first. At this size the buyer understands business calculations. Explain the eight points below, and let him decide if they are worth the difference.

1

It works with an uneven load on the three phases

Kent G3One phase can take up to 50 percent of the rated power, and the other two phases share the rest. In a real house or shop the load is never equal on all three phases, and the G3 accepts this. The system does not trip, and the building does not have to be rewired.
Other brandsMany models need the load to be nearly equal on all three phases. In a normal building the kitchen, the ACs and the pump usually sit on one phase. So that phase gets overloaded and the inverter trips at night. The customer finds this out only after installation, and then the wiring has to be changed.
2

Switch-over in less than 5 ms

Kent G3Less than 5 milliseconds, like an online UPS. Compressors keep running. Billing machines and CCTV do not restart. The shop or the clinic keeps working normally.
Other brandsAt 10 ms or 20 ms, compressors stop and start again, lights blink and computers can restart. In a commercial building, every power cut stops the work for a moment. The staff and the customers notice it.
3

Kent CentCom, and ₹10,000 of it is free

Kent G3A 4G data logger with an M2M SIM is built in and stays connected to Kent CentCom by itself. Generation can be checked day wise, month wise and year wise, any setting can be changed from a distance and a stuck alarm can be cleared without anyone travelling. Kent AI-Settings lets the engineer make the change by speaking in his own language. Data is kept on Indian servers. The logger, SIM and 5 year data pack are worth about ₹10,000 and are given free.
Other brandsA WiFi dongle sold separately, and usually offline because there is no WiFi near the inverter. So a technician has to visit for every fault, and no setting can be changed from a distance. Nobody can check whether an asset costing lakhs of rupees is working properly or not.
4

200% overload against 150%

Kent G3Twice the rating for 10 seconds handles the starting current of a compressor, a lift motor or a submersible pump. The site keeps running.
Other brands150% is not enough for these starting currents. The inverter trips, the work in the building stops, and the customer reports it as a product failure on an important asset.
5

200% solar oversizing against 150%

Kent G3With 200% of panels, even on a cloudy day at half output the panels still give the full inverter rating. The complete load runs on solar and nothing is taken from the grid. On a commercial tariff, over one year, this is where the extra price comes back.
Other brandsWith only 150% of panels, the same half output day gives only 75% of the inverter rating. The remaining 25% comes from the grid, at commercial rates, on many days of the year.
6

It grows with the building

Kent G3Six units in parallel, up to 90 KW, with F1 batteries connected behind them. All of it shows as one system. It also works as a simple on-grid inverter with no battery, or as backup with no solar. So the customer can buy in stages instead of paying everything on the first day.
Other brandsParallel operation is limited or not available, and the hybrid must be bought complete. A business that grows has to install a second separate system. A business short of money today buys something cheaper and replaces it later.
7

The generator port saves diesel and allows a smaller generator

Kent G3The generator input can be given a power limit, so the customer can use a smaller generator and run it efficiently. If the load suddenly increases, solar and battery support the generator instead of overloading it. When the battery is charged enough, the inverter stops the generator on its own, so no extra diesel is burnt.
Other brandsMost models only switch over to the generator. There is no power limit, so the customer has to keep a bigger generator than he needs. On a sudden load the generator gets overloaded and trips. And it keeps running until somebody switches it off by hand, which wastes diesel every day.
8

Do not compare it with a cheap IP66 model

Kent G3The IP rating is only one line of the specification. Put dual MPPT, smart load and parallel operation next to the cheaper model and the price difference becomes clear. But you have to show this, because the customer will not check it himself.
Other brandsCheap models show the same IP65 or IP66 rating, so they look similar on a price list. Most of them have no dual MPPT, no smart load and no parallel operation.
If he still wants the cheaper model, ask him three questions "Switch-over kitna hai?" · "Data logger 4G hai ya WiFi, aur uska paisa alag lagega?" · "Kitne unit parallel lag sakte hain?" Let the customer get these answers himself.
Watch outThe buyer will ask for payback period, load analysis and a site survey. Do not do these alone. Take the technical team with you.

Competitive advantages

Hybrid inverters get more service calls than any other part of a solar system. Most of these calls are about settings, not about damage. This is how the common complaints divide.

Solved by changing a settingFrom the phone, in a few minutes
  • Battery not charging, because charge mode or charge current is set wrong
  • Battery finishing too fast, because the discharge limit is set wrong
  • Smart load switching off at the wrong battery percentage
  • Grid charging set for the wrong hours
  • Working mode set wrong at the time of installation
  • Generator input not switched on, or set wrong
Solved by clearing an alarmFrom the phone, in a few seconds
  • Grid fault alarm still showing, although the grid is normal now
  • Insulation warning after rain or in high humidity
  • Overload trip after one heavy load, which is already removed
  • Battery communication alarm after a new battery is added
  • Inverter not restarting after a power cut, solved by a software update
  • Red light showing but there is no real fault, and the customer is worried
A visit is still neededBut the engineer goes prepared
  • Overheating because of a bad location, dust or blocked air flow
  • Panel voltage too high because the panels are wrongly connected
  • Loose or rusted MC4 connectors and DC terminals
  • Breaker tripping again and again, burning smell, or visible damage
  • A real component failure inside the unit
Even thenCentCom gives the engineer the fault code, the history and the serial number before he leaves. One visit, correct spare part, work finished the first time.

Other all-in-one productsThe unit has only a few indicator lights on the front. It does not show any battery data. The customer does not know the condition of the battery inside. He comes to know that it has become weak only when the backup fails.
2

A DC MCB is fitted inside for protection

Kent AIOA DC MCB is fitted inside the unit. It protects against a short circuit and against over current on the DC side. It is part of the product, so the protection is always there.
Other all-in-one productsMost of them do not give a DC MCB, because it reduces their cost. Then there is either no DC protection at all, or the electrician fits something at the site. Sometimes an AC MCB is fitted on a DC circuit. An AC MCB cannot break a DC arc safely, so this is unsafe. The customer cannot see this problem.
3

It is floor mounted, so it fits where the old setup was

Kent AIOThe AIO stands on the floor. Every house already has a corner where the inverter and the battery trolley were kept. The AIO goes into that same corner. Nothing has to be drilled, and no wall space has to be found.
Other all-in-one productsMany of them can only be fixed on a wall. In most houses there is no free wall in that corner, and a heavy combined unit needs a strong wall and proper fixing. The customer then has to find a new place for it. Many sales stop at this stage.
4

5 year warranty on the complete unit

Kent AIO5 years on the whole product, and the lithium battery is included in it. There is one warranty, one company and nothing to divide.
Other all-in-one productsUsually 2 or 3 years. The battery is the costliest part inside the unit. A shorter warranty on the same product means more risk for the customer.
Watch outWrite on the quotation exactly which points are on backup and for how long. Most "backup kam hai" complaints happen because the customer added another load to that circuit later.

Solar MPPT inverter · Off-grid

S1 3600

S1 3600 is a 3600 VA solar inverter with a 3 KW MPPT charge controller. It works with solar, battery and grid charging. It never sends power to the grid, so no approval is needed from the electricity board. It is used where the grid is weak, or where net metering is not available.

Note the nameThe model is S1 3600. It is a 3600 VA inverter with a 3 KW solar controller. If you call it "S1 3KW", you are mixing the inverter rating with the solar rating. A customer who notices this will stop trusting your other numbers.
2

Features

3 KW MPPT chargingMPPT keeps finding the best working point of the panels. It gives about 20 to 30 percent more energy from the same panels than a PWM controller.
Selectable power priorityThe customer can decide which source runs the load, and which source charges the battery. Solar can be used first, or the grid can be used first, or the battery can be kept full for a power cut. One product suits many different situations. The settings are given in the table below.
Runs one AC or one submersibleIt can run one non-inverter AC, or one submersible pump. So it is not only a lights and fans product. This is what makes it useful for a shop, a clinic or a farm.
92 A discharge currentThe S1 can draw up to 92 A from the battery. This is what allows it to run heavy loads like an AC or a pump. The battery you offer must also be able to give this current.
Lead or lithium batteryIt works with the customer's existing 24V lead-acid bank, or with a lithium battery. So he can upgrade later in two steps.
LCD displaySolar, battery, load and fault status can be read on the unit. This matters where nobody at the site uses an app.
Very important — match the battery to the 92 A The S1 can draw up to 92 A. The A6-2560 can give only 65 A, so it is not enough for a heavy load. The A6-3840 gives 150 A. If the customer wants to run an AC or a submersible pump, offer the A6-3840. If you fit an A6-2560 on a heavy load, the customer will complain that the system trips.

Which source runs the load

SettingHow it worksWhen to use it
Solar → Battery → GridSolar runs the load. When solar is not enough, the battery runs it. The grid is used only when both are finished. For the maximum saving. Use where the electricity rate is high, or where the customer wants the lowest bill.
Solar → Grid → BatterySolar runs the load. When solar is not enough, the grid runs it. The battery is kept full and used only in a power cut.Where power cuts are long, and the customer wants the battery always ready.
Grid → Solar → BatteryThe grid runs the load first. Solar and battery are used after that.Only in special cases, where the battery must always stay fully charged.

Which source charges the battery

SettingHow it worksWhen to use it
Solar onlyOnly the solar panels charge the battery. The grid never charges it.Where the customer does not want to pay for charging from the grid, and there is enough sunlight.
Solar first, then gridSolar charges the battery. When solar is not available or not enough, the unit changes over and the grid charges it.The most common setting. Use this unless the customer asks for something else.
Grid firstThe grid charges the battery. Solar is used after that.Only where sunlight is poor for many days and the battery must always stay full.
Understand this clearly In the S1, solar and grid never work together. At any moment, either solar is charging the battery or the grid is charging it. In the same way, either solar runs the load or the grid runs it. Solar and battery do work together, so solar can run the load and the battery can support it at the same time. If a customer or an electrician asks whether solar and grid can be combined in the S1, the answer is no.
Write the setting on the handover sheet Most "bachat nahi ho rahi" complaints on an S1 happen because the charging priority was left on grid. Set it correctly at installation, write down which setting you used, and explain it to the customer before you leave.
3

Competitive advantages

There are three points where the S1 is different from other off-grid solar inverters. Explain these three, and nothing else is needed.

PointKent S1 3600Other brands
Solar charge controllerMPPTPWM in most models
Discharge current92 ALower, so heavy loads cannot run
Heavy loadOne non-inverter AC, or one submersible pumpOnly lights, fans and TV
1

MPPT, not PWM

Kent S1 3600A 3 KW MPPT controller keeps finding the best working point of the panels. It gives about 20 to 30 percent more energy from the same panels. The customer has already paid for those panels. So this extra energy costs him nothing. On a solar system this difference covers the price gap quickly.
Other brandsMost models in this segment still use PWM, because it is cheaper to make. PWM wastes part of the panel output. The loss is highest in winter, in the early morning and in partial shade. These are the times when the customer needs the power.
2

92 A discharge current

Kent S1 3600The S1 can draw up to 92 A from the battery. This is what lets it carry a heavy load without tripping. Tell the customer to check this number on any other model he is comparing.
Other brandsThe discharge current is lower. The inverter rating on the box may look similar, but the unit cannot actually deliver that much current. So the customer buys a 3600 VA inverter and then finds that it trips on a heavy load.
3

It can run one AC or one submersible pump

Kent S1 3600It can run one non-inverter AC, or one submersible pump. So a shop, a clinic or a farm can keep working during a power cut, not only the lights and fans.
Other brandsIn this segment most models can run only lights, fans and a TV. An AC or a pump will either not start, or it will trip the inverter. The customer then keeps his diesel generator for those loads and gets no real benefit.
Watch outDo not sell S1 to a customer whose main problem is a high bill in a district where net metering works well. An M1 is much better for him, and you will lose the customer later.

Backup inverter

H1 1100 · 2400

H1 is a simple backup inverter. The mains charges the battery, and the battery runs the house during a power cut. The battery is bought separately, and it can be lead-acid or lithium. This is our highest volume product and the lowest priced way into our range.

Features

Lead or lithiumOne inverter works with both. The customer can start with a lead-acid battery and change to lithium later, without changing the inverter.
Two ratings, two voltages1100 VA on 12V and 2400 VA on 24V. This keeps the selection simple at the counter.
UPS and Inverter modeUPS mode is for computers and sensitive equipment. Inverter mode accepts poor and unstable mains supply. The output is 230V in both modes.
LED statusMains, battery, charging and fault can be seen at a glance. There is nothing for the customer to read or understand wrongly.
Manual bypassA manual switch lets the house run directly on mains while the unit is being serviced. It is a small feature, but on that one day the customer values it a lot.
Pure sine wave outputThe output waveform is the same shape as the grid supply. Fans do not hum, tubelights do not buzz, and computers, TVs and CCTV run safely. A square wave inverter is cheaper, but it is hard on electronics and it makes fans and lights noisy.
3

How to position the H1

Be clear about what this product is The H1 is a basic backup inverter. Every brand sells one. It does not have any special feature that other brands do not have. Do not try to prove that the H1 is technically better than another brand. If you say that, the customer will ask you to prove it, and you will not be able to.

Sell it on these three things

The Kent name. The customer's family already owns a Kent product. At this price level, trust is the main reason a customer buys.

Service. Kent's service network is already present in his area. Many brands at this price have only the dealer.

The upgrade path. It works with lead-acid and with lithium. He can buy within his budget today and change only the battery later.

Where the real sale is

The H1 is the lowest cost way into our range. Use the H1 to start the relationship with the customer. Many of these customers buy a bigger product later.

If the customer wants no maintenance, one single warranty and nothing extra to buy, move him to the AIO. It is one product with a 5 year warranty, and there we do have clear advantages.

If he wants to reduce his electricity bill as well, move him to the S1 or the M1.

Watch outH1 has 2 years warranty and the battery has its own separate warranty. Tell the customer this at the time of quoting, not at the time of a claim. Also, H1 needs a DC rated MCB at the battery end. The A6 has its own MCB inside. If any other battery is used, the MCB must be quoted separately and it must be DC rated, never an AC MCB.

Lithium battery · 12.8V and 25.6V, wall or counter

A6 1280 · 2560 · 3840

A6 is our lithium battery for normal home backup. It replaces a tubular battery directly. It works with any inverter, it has a Bluetooth Smart BMS, and it has an MCB inside. It is used with H1 and S1, and also with the customer's existing inverter.

Very important — check the max discharge, not only the inverter rating A6-1280 and A6-2560 are 0.65C batteries. So the A6-1280 can give only 0.83 kW and the A6-2560 can give only 1.66 kW, even if the inverter is bigger. A6-3840 is a 1C battery and gives the full 3.84 kW.

This means the battery decides the load, not the inverter. If the customer wants to run a heavier load on an H1 2400 or an S1 3600, offer the A6-3840. If you fit an A6-2560 on a heavy load, the customer will complain that the system trips.
2

Features

Works with any inverterThe A6 has a self-learning BMS. The BMS studies how the connected inverter charges, and then adjusts itself to work with it. Because of this, the A6 works with normal inverters already in the market. The customer does not have to change his inverter to move from lead-acid to lithium. This is the simplest way to sell a lithium battery.
Bluetooth Smart BMSThe customer can open the Kent app on his phone and see the charge level, battery health, number of cycles and any fault. A tubular battery gives no such information.
MCB inside the batteryCorrect DC protection is already inside the product. Nothing extra has to be bought. The protection does not depend on which electrician comes to the site.
Wall or counter mountingThe battery is sealed and light. It can be fixed on a wall or kept on a counter. No trolley, no floor space and no open area is needed.
No maintenanceNo water filling, no terminal cleaning and no white powder on the terminals. The customer does not have to do anything every few months.
5 year warrantyThe warranty is 5 years. The battery gives 3500 or more cycles on the 1280 and the 2560, and 4000 or more on the 3840. In the time that one A6 keeps working, a lead-acid battery is bought three times.
3

Competitive advantages

Compare the A6 with other lithium batteries in the market, not with a tubular battery. These are the four points where we are different from them.

1

Self-adapting BMS, so it works with any inverter

Kent A6The BMS studies how the connected inverter charges, and then adjusts itself. So the A6 works with almost any inverter that is already installed. The customer changes only the battery and keeps his existing inverter.
Other lithium batteriesThey use a hardware BMS with fixed values set in the factory. It cannot adjust itself to a different inverter. So the battery works correctly only with certain inverters. On other inverters it may not charge fully, or it may cut off early. The customer then has to buy a new inverter also.
2

Smart BMS with Bluetooth

Kent A6The Kent app shows the charge level, battery health, number of cycles, temperature and any fault. The customer can check the battery himself, and the dealer can check it before sending an engineer.
Other lithium batteriesMost of them do not give a smart BMS or an app. Nobody can see the condition of the battery from outside. To check anything, an engineer has to go to the site and open the connections.
3

MCB inside, not a fuse

Kent A6An MCB is fitted inside the battery. If it trips for any reason, the customer simply switches it on again. Nothing has to be replaced and no service call is needed. After installation the customer does not have to do anything to the battery.
Other lithium batteriesThey use a fuse, because a fuse is cheaper than an MCB. When the fuse burns, it has to be replaced. That type of fuse is not easily available in the local market. So a service call is needed, and the customer stays without backup until the engineer comes.
4

A new design, not a copy of a tubular battery

Kent A6The A6 has a modern metal design. It can be fixed on a wall or kept on a counter. It looks like a proper electrical product in the house, and it does not take floor space.
Other lithium batteriesMost brands are still making batteries in the same shape as a tubular battery, to be kept on a trolley. The customer buys a new technology but the product looks old, and it still takes the same floor space.
4

Which A6 replaces which tubular battery

2 × 200Ah tubular, 24V2.40 kWhA6-38403.46 kWh44% more backup
What to say "Aapko 150 Ah nahi chahiye. 100 Ah lithium usse zyada backup degi." The Ah number becomes smaller but the backup becomes larger, because half of the tubular battery was never usable. The full 10 year cost comparison is in Terminology, Lead vs lithium.
Watch out If the customer is keeping his old inverter, first confirm that the inverter can charge a lithium battery correctly. A lead-acid charging setting on a lithium battery will create a warranty dispute later. If you are not sure, quote an H1 along with the battery.

Features

Full 1C dischargeA 100Ah battery gives 100A continuously. So the full 4.8 kW is really available. It is not only stored energy on paper.
Wall or floor mountingThis is the only battery in our range that can be fixed on a wall or kept on the floor. In a flat or a shop with no floor space, this decides the sale.
LCD button displayAn LCD screen with buttons is fitted on the battery. Charge percentage, voltage, current and fault status can be read on the battery itself. The buttons are also used to set the battery at the time of installation. No phone or app is needed.
RS485 / CAN communicationThe battery talks to the inverter. So the inverter charges the battery according to what the battery reports, not by a fixed setting.
MCB insideCorrect DC protection is inside the product. It does not depend on which electrician comes to the site.
Up to 8 in parallelStorage can grow with the customer's need. He can add one more battery next year instead of buying too much today.
Charging current limitingThis is a safety feature for batteries connected in parallel. If one battery has much less charge than the others, a very high current can suddenly flow into it. The BMS sees this and automatically reduces the charging current to a safe level. The batteries then balance with each other slowly and safely, without heating or stress. In the W1 this safe current is 10 A.
Tier A cells from REPTWe use Tier A cells from REPT, a known cell manufacturer. These cells give 4000 or more cycles. At one cycle per day, that is more than 11 years of daily use.
Passive balancing BMSCell level protection against over-charge, over-discharge, high current, short circuit and high temperature.
Tier A BMSThe BMS is the electronic brain of the battery. It watches the voltage and temperature of every cell, cuts the battery off if there is a problem, balances the cells, and talks to the inverter. We use a Tier A BMS. Its components are current production parts, so the board can be serviced and repaired for the full life of the battery.
5 year warrantyFive years of warranty on a sealed battery that needs no maintenance.

About the cell maker

Who is REPT

The cell is the most important part of a battery, so the customer should know who makes it. REPT BATTERO is one of the largest lithium cell makers in the world. It is number one in the world for home storage cells and among the top five for all storage cells, and it is rated a BloombergNEF Tier 1 manufacturer. Most brands cannot even tell the customer whose cells are inside their battery.

1

Full 1C discharge, not 0.5C

Kent W1-4800The W1 gives its full 1C rating. That is 100 A, or 4.8 kW. On a 5 kW inverter it can carry almost the full load. The customer gets the power that is written on the inverter.
Other 48V lithium batteriesMost of them are limited to 0.5C. A battery of the same size then gives only 50 A, which is about 2.4 kW. On a 5 kW inverter the customer can run only about half the load. The inverter rating on the box is of no use, because the battery cannot supply that much current.
2

LCD with buttons on the battery

Kent W1-4800An LCD screen with buttons is fitted on the battery. The engineer can read the status and set the battery directly on the unit. Nothing else is required at the time of installation.
Other 48V lithium batteriesMany of them give only Bluetooth. The engineer must have a phone, the correct app, and the app must connect. Setting the battery becomes difficult at the site, and it takes more time.
3

RS485 and CAN communication

Kent W1-4800The battery talks to the inverter, so the inverter charges it correctly. The batteries also talk to each other, so up to 8 batteries can work together as one bank.
Other 48V lithium batteriesMany brands remove the communication to reduce cost. The inverter then charges by a fixed setting and cannot see the battery. Batteries also cannot talk to each other, so more than one battery cannot be connected properly.
4

Charging current limiting at 10 A

Kent W1-4800When batteries are connected in parallel and one of them has much less charge, the BMS limits the charging current to 10 A. The weak battery fills up and joins the bank safely. Because our limit is 10 A, the batteries balance in about half the time.
Other 48V lithium batteriesMost of them limit the current to only 5 A. The same balancing then takes about double the time. Until the batteries balance, the customer does not get the full backup from the bank he has paid for.
5

Tier A cells from REPT

Kent W1-4800We use Tier A cells from REPT BATTERO. REPT is number one in the world for home storage cells, is among the top five for all storage cells, and is a BloombergNEF Tier 1 manufacturer. Tier A cells hold their capacity for the full number of cycles written on the datasheet.
Other 48V lithium batteriesMany brands use Tier B cells, because they are cheaper. Tier B cells lose their capacity much earlier. The backup starts reducing after two or three years, and the battery does not complete the cycles that were promised. Most brands also do not tell the customer whose cells are inside.
6

Tier A BMS, so the battery can be serviced for its full life

Kent W1-4800The BMS is the electronic brain of the battery. It protects every cell, balances the cells and talks to the inverter. We use a Tier A BMS built with current production components. So the board can be repaired and the parts will be available for the full life of the battery.
Other 48V lithium batteriesA Tier B BMS is cheaper, but it often uses old components that the makers have already stopped producing. After three or four years those parts are not available. The BMS cannot be repaired, and the whole battery has to be replaced even though the cells are still good.

Features

Kent CellSync dual active balancingAll cells in a battery do not stay equal. Some become weaker than others. Active balancing moves charge from the stronger cells into the weaker ones. Our CellSync system balances two cells at the same time, so the whole pack becomes equal much faster. This is why the cells stay matched for many years.
Cells are compressed inside the packAn LFP cell becomes slightly thicker when it is charged and warm, and thinner when it cools. In the F1 the cells are held under a fixed pressure. The pressure is set so that the cells can still expand and contract, but they cannot move or bend freely. This keeps the layers inside each cell tight and even, and it is one of the main reasons the cells reach their full life.
Tier A+ cells from EVEWe use Tier A+ LFP cells from EVE Energy. EVE is one of the largest cell makers in the world and is ranked in the global top three for energy storage cells. Tier A+ is the highest grade. These cells give 6000 or more cycles, which is more than 16 years at one cycle per day.
Tier A BMSThe BMS is the electronic brain of the battery. It watches the voltage and temperature of every cell, cuts the battery off if there is a problem, balances the cells and talks to the inverter. We use a Tier A BMS built with current production components, so the board can be serviced for the full life of the battery.
Full 1C dischargeEvery size gives its full 1C rating: 100 A, 200 A and 280 A. So the complete 5.12 kW, 10.55 kW or 14.34 kW is really available, not only stored.
Charging current limiting at 20 AThis is a safety feature for batteries connected in parallel. If one battery has much less charge than the others, a very high current can suddenly flow into it. The BMS reduces the charging current to a safe level so the batteries balance without heating or stress. In the F1 this safe current is 20 A, which is the highest in the industry.
Touchscreen displayA touchscreen is fitted on the battery. Battery status, cell data and fault history can be seen and the battery can be set directly on the unit. A phone or a laptop is not needed.
RS485 and CAN communicationThe battery talks to the M1 and G3 inverters, so charging is done correctly. Cell level data also goes to CentCom, so it can be checked from anywhere.
MCB insideCorrect DC protection is inside the product. If it trips, it can be switched on again. Nothing has to be replaced.
Up to 16 in parallelStorage can grow from 5.12 kWh to more than 200 kWh on a commercial site, and all the batteries show as one bank.

The cell is the most important part of a battery, so the customer should know who makes it. EVE Energy is one of the largest lithium cell makers in the world. It is in the global top three for energy storage cells and among the five largest cell makers overall, and it has been making lithium batteries for 25 years. Its LFP cells are used in grid scale storage projects around the world.

1

Kent CellSync dual active balancing

Kent F1Active balancing moves charge from the stronger cells into the weaker ones. CellSync balances two cells at the same time, so the pack becomes equal much faster. All cells stay matched for many years. This is the reason we are able to give a 10 year warranty.
Other 51.2V lithium batteriesMost of them use passive balancing only. It burns energy from the strongest cell as heat, and it works very slowly. In an LFP battery the voltage stays almost flat, so the BMS gets very little information to work with. The weakest cell then decides the capacity of the whole battery.
2

The cells are compressed inside the pack

Kent F1An LFP cell becomes thicker when it is charged and warm, and thinner when it cools. In the F1 the cells are held under a fixed pressure. They can still expand and contract, but they cannot move or bend freely. The layers inside each cell stay tight and even, so the cells reach their full cycle life.
Other 51.2V lithium batteriesThe cells are only placed inside a box, with no pressure on them. Over the years the cells swell and move. The layers inside the cell separate, the internal resistance increases, and the capacity falls much earlier than the datasheet says.
3

Tier A+ cells from EVE

Kent F1We use Tier A+ cells from EVE Energy. EVE is ranked in the global top three for energy storage cells and among the five largest cell makers in the world. Tier A+ is the highest grade, and these cells hold their capacity for the full number of cycles written on the datasheet.
Other 51.2V lithium batteriesMany brands use Tier B cells, because they are cheaper. Tier B cells lose their capacity much earlier. The backup starts reducing after two or three years. Most brands also do not tell the customer whose cells are inside the battery.
4

Tier A BMS, so the battery can be serviced for its full life

Kent F1We use a Tier A BMS built with current production components. The board can be repaired and the parts will be available for the full ten years of the warranty.
Other 51.2V lithium batteriesA Tier B BMS is cheaper, but it often uses old components that the makers have already stopped producing. After three or four years those parts are not available. The BMS cannot be repaired, and the whole battery has to be replaced even though the cells are still good.
5

Full 1C discharge in every size

Kent F1100 A, 200 A and 280 A continuous in the three models. The power written on the datasheet is the power the battery actually gives, in every size.
Other 51.2V lithium batteriesLarger batteries are often limited to 0.5C. The Ah number looks big on the quotation, but the battery gives only half the current. It drops the first time an air conditioner or a pump starts.
6

Charging current limiting at 20 A

Kent F1When batteries are connected in parallel and one has much less charge, the BMS limits the charging current to 20 A. This is the highest limit in the industry. The weak battery fills up and joins the bank safely, and the batteries balance about four times faster.
Other 51.2V lithium batteriesMost of them limit the current to only 5 A. The same balancing then takes about four times longer. Until the batteries balance, the customer does not get the full backup from the bank he has paid for.
7

Touchscreen on the battery, and full communication

Kent F1A touchscreen is fitted on the battery, so the engineer can read the status and set the battery on the unit itself. The battery also talks to the M1 and G3 over RS485 and CAN, and the cell data goes to CentCom, so it can be checked from anywhere.
Other 51.2V lithium batteriesMany give only Bluetooth, or nothing at all. The engineer needs a phone, the correct app, and the app must connect. Some brands remove the inverter communication completely to reduce cost, so the inverter charges by a fixed setting and cannot see the battery.
8

10 year warranty instead of 5

Kent F1Ten years of warranty, from a 25 year old company with a service network across the country. We are able to give this because of the Tier A+ cells, the compressed pack, the CellSync balancing and the Tier A BMS. The warranty is the result of all four.
Other 51.2V lithium batteriesUsually 5 years. On the same product, half the warranty means the customer carries the risk for the second half of the battery life himself.
Watch outNever quote an F1 without asking the technical team for the correct cable size and protection for that model. A 280A battery on a thin cable becomes a heating problem long before anyone calls it a fault.

Two channels, because we sell two kinds of product

Some of our products are plug and play. The customer can buy them from a shop and use them. Other products need professional installation and design. These two kinds of product need two completely different channels. Never try to sell a solar product through a battery shop, and never expect a solar integrator to sit and sell an inverter across a counter.

1

The non-solar channel

These products are plug and play. The customer buys the product, an electrician connects it, and it works. This is a normal retail business and it runs on stock, credit and shop presence.

Every partner in this channel is already selling home backup UPS or tubular lead-acid batteries of other brands — Luminous, Exide, Amaron, Livguard, Microtek, V-Guard, Okaya and others. You are not teaching him a new business. You are asking him to add a lithium range to a business he already runs.

PartnerWhat he does
1Retail Distributor
RDx
Buys in bulk from the company and covers a territory. Supplies the retailers in his area and gives them open credit in the market. His business runs on stock and collection.
2Direct Dealer
DD
A large shop that buys in bulk directly from the company instead of through a distributor. He has the money to pay in advance and the space to keep stock. He sells to the end customer himself.
3Retailer
Retailer
Sells to the end customer across the counter and keeps small stock. He buys from the RDx. He usually also arranges the electrician who installs the product.
2

The solar channel

Solar products are not plug and play, so they are almost never sold from a shop. The customer needs someone to design the system for him. That person is the system integrator. He visits the site, studies the load and the roof, decides the size, then installs the solar panels and the inverter, connects the battery, and joins the whole system to the customer's grid supply. He also handles the net metering application where it applies.

So in this channel you are not selling a product to a shop. You are selling to the person who will design and install the system, and he will decide which brand goes into his customer's house.

Every partner in this channel is already installing solar inverters of other brands — Solis, Deye, Eastman, Feston and others are strong in the Indian market. He knows the category well. Your job is to show him where our product is better, not to explain what a hybrid inverter is.

PartnerWhat he does
1Solar Distributor
SDx
Buys in bulk from the company and covers a territory. Supplies the smaller system integrators in his area and gives them credit. He does not install anything himself.
2Direct System Integrator
DSI
A mid-size integrator who takes more than one unit at a time and keeps stock. He buys straight from the company instead of from a distributor. He designs and installs the systems himself.
3System Integrator
SI
A smaller integrator who buys per project, usually one system at a time, from the SDx. He does the site survey, the design and the installation himself.

Who to appoint — partner profiling

The section above tells you what a partner must set up. This section tells you who to appoint. Check every point before you recommend anybody. A partner appointed on the wrong profile will not fail quietly — he will block that territory for a year.

Non-solar channel

RDx — Retail Distributor

What we checkWhat is required
His present tradeHe must already be in the inverter or battery trade. Someone from a different trade is not recommended, however good he looks otherwise
Why the trade mattersThis is a relationship business. The value he brings is the retailers who already take his calls. A man from another trade has to build all of that from zero
Who we do not wantWe are not looking for an investor who can put money on the table. Money alone does not move this business
Retailer networkHe must already be supplying inverters or batteries to 50 to 100 retailers
Opening investmentMinimum ₹5 lakh to start the business
Business expected₹10 lakh per month, to be reached by the third month
TransportationHis own arrangement to move goods from his warehouse to the retailers
Sales teamHis own salespeople, to call on existing retailers and open new ones. The Kent salesperson works with them and helps, but does not replace them
CollectionHis own responsibility. Kent does not collect his outstanding from his retailers. Say this clearly at the time of appointment, not afterwards
The two mistakes to avoid with an RDx Appointing a man from another trade because he has money. He has no retailer relationships, so nothing moves.
Leaving collection unclear. If he believes Kent will help him recover money from his retailers, the dispute comes in month four, and by then his outstanding is already large.

Non-solar channel

DD — Direct Dealer

What we checkWhat is required
Retail shopHe must have a retail shop. This is a counter business, so without a shop there is nothing to appoint
His present tradeHe must already be selling inverters and batteries. Then he can explain the benefit of our product to a customer
Allied tradesAn electrical goods shop — fans, geysers, switches — is acceptable. He sells to the same customer and understands electrical products
Trades to avoidA consumer durable shop is strongly discouraged. Shops from unrelated trades are discouraged
Why the trade mattersA shop that has never sold an inverter cannot answer a customer's questions. Our product will sit on his shelf and he will blame the product
Opening investmentMinimum ₹1 lakh to start
Business expected₹2 lakh per month, to be reached from the third month onwards
How he buysDirect from the company, in bulk, on advance payment. He does not buy through an RDx

Solar channel

SDx — Solar Distributor

What we checkWhat is required
His present tradeHe must already be distributing solar products — solar panels, on-grid inverters, hybrid inverters or off-grid inverters
New entrantsAn SDx cannot be someone from outside the trade. This role runs on an existing network of integrators and on knowing the market. A new entrant cannot build that from zero
Integrator networkA good network of system integrators, at least 20, whom he already supplies
PM Surya Ghar ratingHe should be a highly rated vendor on the PM Surya Ghar portal. A good rating brings him subsidy customers, and it shows his past work was completed properly
Own installationsHe should also be installing directly at end customer homes, not only supplying to others. Then he knows the product in the field, not only on paper
Opening investmentMinimum ₹10 lakh to start
Business expected₹20 lakh per month, to be reached by the third month
Solutioning teamHis own team that helps his system integrators choose the right product for each site. Without this team the SIs will keep coming back to Kent for every small question
Service engineerA service engineer of his own is a strong positive, because he will have to give on-field support to his SIs
TransportationHis own arrangement to deliver to his system integrators
CollectionHis own responsibility. Kent does not collect his outstanding from his SIs

Solar channel

DSI — Direct System Integrator

What we checkWhat is required
His present tradePreferably already doing installation and project work — solar panels, on-grid inverters or hybrid inverters
New entrantsA new entrant is also acceptable for a DSI. Solar is growing very fast, and a serious person who wants to enter this business can be trained. This is the one role where we do not insist on an existing trade background
PM Surya Ghar ratingIf he is already in the trade, he should be a decently rated vendor on the PM Surya Ghar portal. A new entrant must get himself registered on the portal
Installation teamHis own installation team. He cannot depend on labour hired for each job, because the quality of our system depends on how it is installed
Opening investmentMinimum ₹2 lakh to start
Business expected₹5 lakh per month, to be reached by the third month
How he buysDirect from the company, more than one unit at a time, on advance payment. He does not buy through an SDx
Who he sells toThe end customer. He does the survey, the design and the installation himself

Before you commit any of these numbers The investment and monthly business figures above are the norms for appointment. Confirm them against the current channel policy before you put them in front of a prospective partner, and give the final terms in writing at the time of appointment.
Retailer and SI are not profiled here We do not appoint a Retailer or an SI directly. The Retailer is appointed by the RDx and the SI buys from the SDx. If you understand the DD profile you already know what a good Retailer looks like, and if you understand the DSI profile you already know what a good SI looks like — the same trade background, on a smaller scale.

What Kent gives a trade partner

A dealer is not choosing between our inverter and another inverter. He is choosing which company will bring him customers, train his people, and keep his service cost low.

1

Bringing him customers

Known brandKent already advertises across the country and is a known name in the home. He does not have to spend the first meeting proving that the company exists.
Digital campaignsProduct campaigns on social media and video, from the same team that runs our purifier and fan campaigns.
Leads by areaEnquiries from campaigns, the website and the dealer locator are passed to the partner covering that area.
Existing Kent customersHomes in his area that already own a Kent product. No new solar brand has a list like this.
Shop displayDisplay units, a working demo battery, catalogues, standees and window branding.
Ready creative kitPosts and WhatsApp forwards that he can send under his own shop name from the first day.
Say this honestlyLeads help a partner's business. They do not replace it. Never promise a number of leads or a conversion rate. A partner who signs on a big promise becomes an unhappy partner by the third month.
2

Making his team capable

For his sales staffSo they can explain and quote
  • This guide, as a link they can open on a phone at the counter
  • Training on lead versus lithium and the four inverter types
  • The 10 year cost table to use in front of a customer
  • Customer brochures and comparison sheets
  • Refresher training whenever a new model or feature comes
For his engineersSo the installation is right the first time
  • Hands-on product and installation training
  • Commissioning checklists for each product
  • Cable size, DC protection and mounting given in writing
  • CentCom engineer level access for his service calls
  • Kent AI-Settings, so he can commission by voice in his own language
For his shopSo the product sells while he is busy
  • A working demo battery on the counter
  • A CentCom demo login showing a real site
  • Display, branding and point of sale material
  • Dealer locator listing and online presence
  • Design support for larger G3 enquiries

How to convince a prospective partner

Learn the three things below. Every objection in this market is answered by one of them. Then learn the four objections partners are giving us today, and what to say for each one.

1

Three things to remember

1. We build. We do not trade. Most brands buy a finished battery from someone else and put their sticker on it. They cannot even tell you which cells are inside. We build our own packs. We choose the cells, compress them, and weld the joints. We have 10 GWh of capacity in the pipeline and have put ₹200 crore into a new plant for this business.
2. More is inside our box.We are not costlier for the same product. On hybrids we give a 4G logger, SIM and 5 years of data free, worth about ₹10,000. On batteries we give the highest grade cells, a better BMS, a DC MCB inside and compressed cells. Others leave out each of these to reduce their price.
3. The customer already trusts Kent.Kent is 25 years old. The customer's family already owns a Kent product. In a category where the customer is afraid of lithium and afraid of being cheated, a known name is worth more than a feature list. No new solar brand has this.
2

The four objections, and what to say

1

"Aapka product sabse mehnga hai"

Is it true?Yes. Accept it first. Never argue that we are not expensive
What he meansHe is comparing two price tags. He has not compared what is inside the two boxes
What you say"Haan, hum mehnge hain. Dono ki list saamne rakhiye. Jo cheez hum de rahe hain aur wo nahi de rahe, uska alag se paisa jodiye. Phir hisaab lagaiye."
Your proofOn a hybrid, ask him to price a 4G logger with SIM and 5 years data separately. On a battery, ask which cell brand is inside the other pack, and whether it has an MCB or a fuse

Know who he is comparing us with, because the answer is different for each product.

Our productHe compares withWhat we have that they do not
A6MicrotekSelf-adapting BMS · Bluetooth Smart BMS · DC MCB instead of a fuse · modern design
W1 · F1Eastman and new playersTier A cells from REPT, Tier A+ from EVE · active balancing on F1 · compressed cells · full 1C · DC MCB · 10 year warranty on F1
M1 · G3Solis, Deye₹10,000 logger, SIM and data free · under 5 ms switch-over · 200% overload · 200% oversizing
2

"Kent is naya hai is category mein"

Is it true?Yes, in this category. Not in manufacturing
What he meansHe is afraid we will leave the category in one year. Then his customers come back to him and nobody is behind him. Many brands have done this to him before
What you say"Category mein naye hain, manufacturing mein nahi. Kent 25 saal se apni factory mein banata hai. Jo company sirf try kar rahi ho, wo do sau crore ka plant nahi lagati."
Your proof₹200 crore plant and 10 GWh capacity. And Kuhl fans — a new category for us four years ago, now a success, because we built a separate service setup for it. He can go and check how Kuhl fans are serviced in his own city
3

"Aapki service is line ke liye ready nahi hai"

Is it true?Yes. Say so honestly. The team for this line is still being built. If you overclaim and he finds out in month two, you lose him permanently
What he means"Complaint aayegi to main phans jaunga"
What you say"Is line ki service team abhi ban rahi hai, ye main saaf bata raha hoon. Par Kent ka service network poore India mein pehle se chal raha hai. Aur hybrid mein zyadatar complaint phone se hi theek ho jaati hai."
Your proofOver 2,000 service partners across India already working. Every M1 and G3 has a 4G logger, so settings and stuck alarms are corrected from a phone without anyone travelling. And we did this before for Kuhl fans
4

"Product achha hai, par customer itna paisa nahi dega"

Is it true?Half true. A customer will not pay more for a specification he does not understand. He will pay more for a brand he trusts
What he means"Main akela is product ko bech nahi paunga." He is afraid of justifying a higher price to every customer, alone, with no support behind him
What you say"Hum discount aur scheme wali company nahi hain, hum advertise karte hain. Kent ka purifier aaj bhi sabse sasta nahi hai, phir bhi log lete hain aur zyada paisa dete hain. Yahi is category mein bhi hoga."
Your proofKent purifiers are not the cheapest and customers still choose them. Kuhl became a known name in four years. Marketing will be done for New Energy in the same way, so he is not creating the demand alone
If he says he will wait and watch Do not fight it. Tell him what waiting costs: the territory goes to somebody else, his staff get trained later, and he has no stock and no trained people on the day the advertising starts.
Three things you must never promise A service engineer in his town by a certain month, or any response time.
A campaign date, a media plan or a marketing budget figure.
Any margin, credit limit or scheme.
For all three, take the current position from the office and give it to him in writing.
The one line to remember All four objections are answered by the same fact. We build these products, we do not trade them. That is why more is inside the box, why we cost more, why we are not leaving this category, and why the service organisation is being built properly.

Commercial terms

There are only three commercial points the team must know: the GST rate on each product, the answer to the 5 percent bundle question, and what CentCom costs after the first five years. Everything else — prices, margins, credit and schemes — comes from the current price list and channel policy.

1

GST on each product

CategoryModelsGST
Hybrid invertersM1 3 / 5 / 6KW · G3 10 / 12 / 15KW5%
Home UPS and off-grid invertersH1 1100 / 2400 · S1 360018%
All-in-oneAIO 1100 / 240018%
Batteries — all of themA6 · W1 · F118%
Learn this simply Only the hybrid inverters are at 5 percent. Everything else we sell is at 18 percent. These rates are confirmed by Finance, so you can state them directly. When you quote a hybrid with a battery, the two lines carry two different rates. Show them as separate lines on the quotation.
2

The 5 percent bundle question

Many people in the market will tell you about the government scheme for a solar generation device. Under it, a hybrid inverter, battery and solar panels supplied together as one system can be invoiced at 5 percent. A partner or a customer may ask why we are not doing this.

What the scheme allowsHybrid inverter, battery and solar panels, sold together as one bundled system, invoiced at 5 percent
Why it does not apply to usKent does not sell solar panels, and we have no plan to sell them. Without the panels there is no bundle, so the bundled rate cannot be used
So what do we chargeBatteries at 18 percent. Inverters as per the table above. Nothing changes
What you say"Wo rate poore solar system par lagta hai, jisme panel bhi shaamil ho. Kent panel nahi bechta, isliye humare invoice par battery 18 percent par hi aayegi."
Do not try to arrange this Do not suggest to a partner or a customer that the bundle can be created by adding panels from somewhere else to get a lower rate. How the invoice is raised is a Finance decision, not a sales decision.
3

CentCom after the first five years

Every M1 and G3 comes with the 4G data logger, the M2M SIM and five years of data included. Partners and customers will ask what happens after that.

First 5 yearsIncluded free with the inverter. The customer pays nothing
After 5 years₹6,000 plus GST for the next five years
Who bills itKent sends it to the customer directly
What you say"Paanch saal to bilkul free hai. Uske baad agle paanch saal ke liye chhe hazaar plus GST, aur wo Kent seedha customer ko bhejta hai."
Use this as a selling point That works out to about ₹100 a month for the second five years, and nothing at all for the first five. Say the renewal price openly when you quote. A customer who hears it from you at the time of buying will renew. A customer who discovers it in year five will feel cheated.
Everything else comes from the office The GST rates on this page are confirmed by Finance. Use them. But this page has no prices, margins, credit terms or schemes, and that is deliberate. Those change, and a number repeated from memory becomes a dispute. Take prices from the current price list, and margins, credit and schemes from the channel policy.

Competition benchmark

This section will carry the comparison against the brands the team meets in the market — Luminous, Exide, Livguard and Microtek in the non-solar channel, and Solis, Deye, Eastman and Feston in the solar channel.

This section is not ready yet The benchmark data is being compiled. Until it is published here, do not quote any competitor's specification, warranty or price. If you need a comparison for a live deal, ask the office and work only from the competitor's current datasheet, with that datasheet in your hand.

Why we will not fill this from memory

Competitor models, ratings and warranty terms change without notice. A number remembered from last year, repeated to a customer, is how we lose a deal and our credibility at the same time. Everything on this page will come from current published datasheets, with the date it was checked.
